And that's what I'd like to continue thinking about all aspects I'm yet to encounter this year. Maybe it will all be different.
We are human. Let's hope we learn from mistakes. Learn what we enjoy. Learn to TRY. Learn to RISK. Learn to LOVE. learn to let ourselves get hurt only to get up again.
I want this year to be different. I want to LIVE.
Experience can only be the best of what you make it. Go to the party you think may be boring, and HAVE FUN.
Try that drink that makes you turn up your nose. Puff a cigarette and then put it down. Go running for a cause. Stand naked in front of the mirror and admire. We're not dead yet, so we might as well keep living it all up.
This isn't a proclamation to go take up bad habits that could hurt yourself, but it is one to take up anything and everything that FEELS RIGHT. You should be doing what makes you happy and trying what you hadn't dared before (as long as your happiness and safety are being taken care of). Do what you feel in your bones...in your aging soul.
One of my favorite quotes to try and live by this year,
" Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather; to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand- strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'WOO HOO-What a Ride!'"
